Rev. Dr. Bazemore
Given a vision to enter the ministry at the early age of six, Reverend Doctor Christopher L. Bazemore has deep roots and extensive training in many traditions of Christianity. In the Catholic Church he held local, regional, and national leadership roles. in 1973, Reverend Bazemore was Director of Religious Education at St. Joseph's Parish and St. James Episcopal Church.
When the vision came to move to a new aspect of spiritual work in Metaphysical studies, the door opened at the Divine Science Church of the District of Columbia, Georgetown. Reverend Bazemore explored other metaphysical traditions and found many spiritual "foster homes." His first two ordinations were in the Church of the Brotherhood, and the Church of the Holy Spirit (Rose Cross). After intensive study of Religious Science. Science of Mind, and (privately taught) Christian Science, he was ordained through the Divine Science of Brooks Divinity School, of Denver, Colorado in February 2002. Over the years, he has participated and presented at numerous Spiritual Conferences across our Nation.
In 1978, he presented on Emma Curtis Hopkins, a New Thought teacher from the 1800's who is regarded as the "teachers of teachers." He continues these teachings at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Largo MD, which he founded in the late 1970s, and where he continues to serve as Pastor with its new name "The Church of the Holy Spirit, United Divine Science." This dedicated community is a source of physical, mental, spiritual and vocational empowerment- a true spiritual resource that blends the highest qualities and experiences of New Thought. Reverend Bazemore is the recently appointed Dean of the United Divine Science Ministerial School.
Reverend Bazemore is also a licensed in the State of Maryland and in the District of Columbia as a Psychotherapist, Clinical Professional Counselor, and Certified as a clinical Hypnotherapist. He is considered and expert in the treatment of childhood trauma. Reverend Bazemore earned the Doctorate Degree from California School of Professional Psychology in 2002; a Master's Degree in Counseling from Trinity College and has served as Director of Religious Education and taught in parochial schools. He was granted a Doctorate in Ministry from the Church of the Holy Spirit.
The Reverend has supported and taught courses in metaphysics at Divine Science of Mind, Arlington Metaphysical Chapel, Washington Society of Science of Mind, Church of Two Worlds. The Institute for Spiritual Development, Miracle Light of God, Church of Brotherhood, Astrology Association, Natural Spiritual Science and others. Reverend Bazemore salutes all Light Centers and all students of Truth. He joins them in bringing forth universal consciousness to humankind through the Church of the Holy Spirit and the United Divine Science Ministerial School in Largo.
